Pune Police Exposes Spa Operating as Sex Racket

In a significant crackdown on organized crime, the Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch successfully dismantled a sophisticated sex trafficking operation that was functioning under the cover of a legitimate spa business in Pune's Pimple Saudagar area. The Saturday raid resulted in the arrest of the establishment's owner and the liberation of seven women who were being forced into prostitution.

Decoy Operation Leads to Bust

The anti-human trafficking unit of the crime branch, operating under the leadership of Senior Police Inspector Nitin Gite, executed a carefully planned operation after receiving credible intelligence about illicit activities at the spa located within a commercial complex. The police deployed an undercover officer posing as a customer to gather concrete evidence before moving in for the arrest.

"We received specific information about the sex racket operating from this spa premises. Our team first sent a decoy customer to verify the activities. After receiving confirmation, we immediately conducted the raid," stated Inspector Gite, detailing the methodical approach that led to the successful operation.

Rescue and Arrest Details

During the raid, authorities discovered seven women from various regions across India who had been coerced into commercial sex work. Police investigation revealed that the spa owner had been systematically exploiting these women under the pretense of running a legitimate wellness center.

The arrested individual has been identified as a 30-year-old man originally from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Following standard procedure for such cases, all rescued women have been transferred to a protective shelter home where they will receive necessary support and counseling services.

Law enforcement officials have registered a formal case against the accused at Sangvi police station, charging him with operating a sex trafficking ring and exploiting women under false pretenses. The investigation continues as authorities work to determine the full scope of the criminal network and identify any additional individuals involved in the operation.
