Sant Tukaramnagar Police Action Nets Three Suspects
Acting on a specific tip-off, the Sant Tukaramnagar police received intelligence that three men were planning to arrive near a local ground with firearms. Senior police inspector Suhas Avhad detailed that a police team promptly set up a trap, resulting in the apprehension of Deepak Barfe (26) from Pimple Gurav, along with Atul Bhalerao (31) and Mukesh Kachi (26), both residents of Dapodi.
"We recovered two country-made pistols and two cartridges from the trio," Avhad stated. The police are currently investigating the origins of these firearms and the underlying motives of the suspects. This proactive approach underscores the department's commitment to preempting potential criminal activities.
Dapodi Police Detain Minor with Criminal History
In a parallel operation, the Dapodi police detained a 17-year-old minor who is already on police records. From this individual, authorities recovered three country-made pistols and four cartridges, adding to the total seizure of illegal weapons.
Assistant police commissioner Sachin Hire revealed that the minor has three criminal cases registered against him. "We are investigating whether he intended to sell these firearms or use them for committing a crime," Hire explained.
