The car driver, identified as a 30-year-old civil engineer currently residing in Hadapsar and originally from Goregaon, Mumbai, was traveling with a friend from Vir towards Saswad. On a sharp bend in the road, the driver failed to notice two motorcycles approaching from the opposite direction, resulting in a violent collision that knocked both motorcycles off the road.
The deceased have been named as Ravindra Kakade, 65, and his relative Mahendra Kakade, 53, both residents of Panagare village in Purandar taluka. They were pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact of the crash. The injured victims are Tukaram Poman, 60, and his wife Surekha, 50, from Pimple village in Purandar taluka, who sustained severe injuries and are currently undergoing medical treatment at a nearby village hospital.

Police Sub-Inspector Parmeshwar Godse of the Saswad police station provided crucial insights into the case. "Our investigation revealed that the car driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol," Godse stated. "He has been arrested on charges of causing death by negligence and drunk driving, following standard legal procedures."
The officer further elaborated that the driver was produced before the court on Sunday, where he was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. He has been sent to Yerawada Central Prison pending further legal proceedings.
