Pune salon owner kills neighbour's dog, booked

A case of animal cruelty has been registered against a 27-year-old salon owner from Bopodi in Pune for brutally killing his neighbour's pet dog. The incident took place on the Pune-Mumbai Road in the same locality around 4 am on Monday, police said.

Revenge motive behind the killing

According to the police, the accused committed the act as revenge because the dog had bitten his wife a few days earlier. Senior inspector Vikramsingh Kadam of the Khadki police stated, "The accused claimed that the pet dog had bitten his wife thrice in the last two weeks. He said he had confronted his neighbour, the pet owner, regarding this, but the latter continued to keep the dog unleashed."

How the incident unfolded

Kadam added, "The salon owner was angry with the pet owner. On Monday, the dog allegedly started barking in the early morning hours. The salon owner woke up and used a heavy stone to bludgeon the pet to death."
