Truck Driver Arrested for Violating Traffic Ban

The Hinjewadi police have registered a case against the truck driver, a 46-year-old resident of Ghatkopar, Mumbai, for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The driver was operating his vehicle during restricted hours, directly violating the ban on heavy vehicles in Pimpri Chinchwad limits from 8 AM to 12 PM and 4 PM to 9 PM. This regulation was implemented following a series of fatal accidents involving heavy vehicles in Hinjewadi and adjacent areas last year.

  • Section 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)
