Pune Teen Stabs Neighbor Over Spitting Argument

A dispute over spitting on a shoe rack escalated into violence in a housing society in Morwadi, Pimpri, when a 12th-grade student allegedly stabbed his 51-year-old neighbor on June 10. The Sant Tukaramnagar police have arrested the minor's mother and detained the student under Sections 109 (attempt to murder), 115 (voluntarily causing hurt), and 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Incident Details

The victim sustained stab wounds on his back and head and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. His wife filed a complaint with the police. The victim and the accused are neighbors, and the shoe rack belongs to the former.

On the night of June 10, the complainant, her husband, and the minor were riding the lift when a heated argument broke out over spitting on the shoe rack. During the argument, the minor threatened to kill the woman's husband, and a scuffle ensued inside the lift.

Attack and Aftermath

Later, as the woman and her husband were heading to lodge a police complaint, the minor and his mother allegedly attacked the complainant's husband. The minor's mother verbally abused him, while the student stabbed him in the back and head with a knife.

The duo fled the scene. The victim's wife approached the police on June 11 and filed a complaint. The police arrested the minor's mother and detained the student. An investigation is underway.
