The Hadapsar police have registered a case against an autorickshaw driver, a woman passenger, and another male passenger for allegedly beating up a PMPML bus driver in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred around midnight when the bus brushed against the autorickshaw at the Hadapsar Gadital bus stop.
Altercation Leads to Assault
According to police, the bus was heading towards Chinchwad from Hadapsar. The bus driver, Omkar Kore (32), a resident of Chinchwad, later lodged a complaint with the Hadapsar police station. Senior inspector Sanjay Mogale stated that the bus was about to leave the depot when it brushed against the autorickshaw, enraging its driver. The two passengers, both residents of Hadapsar, also started abusing the bus driver.
Kore ignored the abuse and began driving ahead. However, the auto driver chased the bus and halted his vehicle in front of it. The trio then climbed into the bus and beat up the driver. The bus conductor tried to pacify them, but they did not pay heed to his requests.
Police Action
The incident took place behind the police station, and Kore and the conductor raised an alarm. Following this, the trio was taken to the police station. Police served them notices asking them to cooperate with the investigations. The autorickshaw sustained some damage in the incident, but none of its occupants suffered injuries.
