Villagers Spring Into Action

The incident unfolded approximately 65 kilometers from Pune when alert villagers noticed suspicious activity around the jewellery establishment. According to police reports, four individuals were attempting to force open the shop's shutter during the nighttime operation.

An officer from Yavat police station revealed that they had received prior intelligence about the planned burglary. "By the time our team reached the location, the local residents had already gathered in response to the suspicious movements," the officer stated. "The villagers informed us that four men were trying to break into the shop, but fled upon seeing the community members approaching."

Dramatic Chase and Arrest

As police began their search operation, they discovered the suspects hiding behind the shop premises. The moment the gang members realized they had been spotted, they attempted to escape by running in different directions.

What followed was a dramatic chase through the village as local residents joined forces with police to pursue the fleeing suspects. In a testament to community policing, the villagers managed to capture two of the four accused after an intense pursuit.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rahul Malvi (28) from Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh and Premchand Chatrawat (22) from Chittorgarh in Rajasthan. During their apprehension, police recovered sharp weapons and a pair of scissors from the duo.
