Punjab Police Apprehends Two Accused with Illegal Firearms in Bathinda
In a significant law enforcement operation, the Punjab Police announced the arrest of two men on Saturday, who were found in possession of illegal weapons and allegedly planning a robbery in Bathinda. The arrested individuals have been identified as Jacky Kumar, also known as Jacky, and Vikas Arora. According to Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the duo was intercepted during a coordinated operation aimed at preventing criminal activities in the region. Preliminary investigations suggest they were targeting a local businessman in Bathinda for a robbery.
During the arrest, authorities recovered two country-made .32 bore pistols, along with magazines and four live cartridges. The weapons were reportedly procured from Delhi, highlighting inter-state connections in illegal arms trafficking. Vikas Arora is noted to have a prior criminal record, including involvement in a domestic violence case, adding to the severity of the charges.
