The SSP of Mohali has been transferred to Ferozepur, and the SSP of Sangrur has been given charge of Mohali. Official Statement

A spokesperson from the Punjab Police headquarters stated that the transfers were part of a routine administrative process to optimize the deployment of officers based on their expertise and the requirements of different districts. The reshuffle is expected to bring fresh perspectives and energy to policing in the affected areas.

This reshuffle comes at a time when the state is focusing on improving its crime prevention and detection rates, particularly in urban centers. The new SSPs have been instructed to prioritize community engagement and the use of technology in policing.

The transfers have been welcomed by local residents who hope that the change in leadership will lead to better law enforcement and quicker response times. However, some political analysts view this as a strategic move by the state government to assert control over the police machinery ahead of upcoming local elections.
