Rajasthan Man Held for Spying, Sharing Border Intel with Pakistan

Jaipur: Rajasthan CID Intelligence arrested a 26-year-old man from Jaisalmer for allegedly spying for Pakistani intelligence agencies and sharing sensitive information about security forces near the international border.

Details of the Arrest

Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Praful Kumar said the arrest followed ongoing surveillance into suspected espionage activity in Rajasthan. The accused, Mustaq Ali of Higola Ki Dhani in Khariya village under Nachna police station limits, was flagged after intelligence agencies noticed suspicious conduct.

Communication with Handlers

Investigators allege Mustaq was in regular contact with Pakistani handlers through social media. Officials said a joint interrogation at the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur, along with analysis of data recovered from his mobile phone, indicated he had been communicating with the handlers for nearly two years.

Modus Operandi

According to officials, the handlers allegedly instructed him to set up a shop on a road leading toward the border and use it as a cover to track security force movements. Investigators claim he operated the shop while monitoring the Border Security Force and the Indian Army, recording videos and taking photographs of troop movements and related activities, then transmitting them to the handlers.

Financial Transactions

Authorities further allege he shared other information deemed sensitive to national security and received money in exchange. Rajasthan Intelligence registered a case under the Official Secrets Act, 1923. Mustaq was formally arrested Tuesday. Further investigation is underway.
