A horrific case of domestic violence culminated in murder in Rajkot on Sunday, sending shockwaves through the community. A young woman lost her life after being allegedly stabbed multiple times by her husband at a friend's residence.
Marriage Turned Tragic: From Instagram to Fatal Attack
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Nileshwari Boricha. According to police reports from the Thorala police station, she was attacked by her husband, Yogesh Boricha. The couple's relationship began four years ago after they connected on Instagram. Their families consented, and they got married.
However, the situation deteriorated in recent months. Police investigations suggest that Yogesh had stopped working and had reportedly become dependent on addictive substances. This led to frequent quarrels, creating severe tension in their marriage.
Escalation of Conflict and Fatal Afternoon
Unable to bear the strife, Nileshwari had left the couple's home in Boricha Society and had been staying with her friend, Jalpa, for the past four days. The tragedy unfolded around 12:30 PM on Sunday at Jalpa's house on Dudhsagar Road.
Yogesh arrived at the location and confronted his wife. What started as an argument quickly turned violent. In a fit of rage, Yogesh allegedly stabbed Nileshwari more than five times before fleeing the scene.
Jalpa immediately rushed the critically injured Nileshwari to Rajkot Civil Hospital. Despite medical efforts, Nileshwari succumbed to her injuries around 5:30 PM during treatment.
Police Manhunt and Case Registered
The Thorala police have registered a case of murder against Yogesh Boricha. A massive manhunt has been launched to trace the accused, who remains absconding. Preliminary investigations strongly indicate that the murder was the direct result of persistent domestic disputes within the marriage.
This incident highlights the grim reality of domestic violence that can escalate to fatal extremes. The police are continuing their investigation while searching for the fugitive husband.
