Rajpura Traders Demand Security After Ransom Calls

Two days after two leading chemists received ransom calls from gangsters, the Punjab Trade Commission Vice-Chairman, Gurpreet Singh Dhamoli, convened a meeting with traders of the cloth market in Rajpura town on Sunday to address security and civic concerns.

Meeting with Police Officials

The meeting was attended by Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manjit Singh and Station House Officer (SHO) Gursewak Singh, who listened to the grievances raised by shopkeepers.

Demands for Better Security

The traders demanded increased night patrolling by PCR teams and the installation of CCTV cameras in the market to deter criminal activities.

Assurances Given

The DSP directed the PCR in-charge to enhance night patrolling in the area. Dhamoli assured the traders that the installation of CCTV cameras and other pending works would be taken up and completed at the earliest.
