In a tragic incident stemming from a long-standing property conflict, a 45-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for the alleged murder of a 62-year-old woman in Ranchi district. The arrest was confirmed by SP (rural) Gaurav Goswami on Sunday, highlighting the violent fallout of the dispute.

Details of the Crime and Arrest

The accused, identified as Sundi Munda, was apprehended from Belbada village, where the crime occurred on Friday. Police reported seizing a sharp weapon believed to have been used in the killing. According to authorities, the victim, Mochokani Devi, was allegedly attacked by Sundi Munda, who slit her throat during a confrontation.

The complaint was filed by Badka Munda, the victim's husband, who accused his relative Sundi of the murder. Investigations revealed that the two parties had been engaged in continuous fights over an ancestral property, which escalated into the fatal incident.

A case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Tamar police station.
