Five Individuals Apprehended in Ranchi for Alleged Murder Linked to Long-Term Affair
In a shocking crime that has gripped Ranchi, authorities have arrested five persons, including a woman, for their alleged involvement in the murder of a man whose blood-stained body was discovered last Thursday. The victim, identified as Asif Ansari, aged 30, was found with severe head injuries in the Gadigaon area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Khelgaon police station.
Police Uncover Motive Behind the Brutal Killing
According to police officials, the murder appears to have been motivated by a long-standing extramarital affair. The deceased, Asif Ansari, had been involved in a relationship with Biula Toppo for approximately 15 years. This affair was reportedly known to Biula's husband, Johnson Minj, who grew increasingly upset over the situation.
City Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sanjeev Kumar Besra provided details to the media on Sunday, stating that Johnson Minj, driven by anger and resentment, conspired with three acquaintances—Deepak Agrawal, Prince Kumar, and Prem Lakra—to carry out the killing. Police investigations reveal that Johnson allegedly paid the trio around Rs 4 lakh to execute the murder.
Details of the Crime and Arrests
The accused individuals first shot Asif Ansari on Wednesday night and left his body at the scene. Locals discovered the body the following morning, prompting an immediate police response. In an attempt to disguise the crime, the perpetrators repeatedly struck Ansari's head, aiming to make it appear as an accident.
Further complicating the case, Biula Toppo is accused of assisting her husband in tampering with evidence related to the murder. All five suspects—Johnson Minj, Deepak Agrawal, Prince Kumar, Prem Lakra, and Biula Toppo—have been arrested and subsequently sent to judicial custody as the investigation continues.
This incident highlights the severe consequences of personal conflicts escalating into violent crimes, with police emphasizing the importance of thorough forensic and investigative work to bring perpetrators to justice.
