Major Drug Bust in Ranchi: Police Nab 10 in Coordinated Raids
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking activities, Ranchi police conducted successful raids across the city on Sunday, resulting in the arrest of 10 individuals and the seizure of substantial quantities of narcotics and cash.
Massive Haul of Narcotics and Cash
The police operation, carried out under the jurisdictions of Kanke and Bariatu police stations, led to the confiscation of 205 grams of brown sugar valued at approximately ₹21.50 lakh, along with 2.5 kg of marijuana, 20 bottles of cough syrup, and ₹2.41 lakh in cash.
SP Rural addressed media representatives on Monday, providing detailed information about the arrests and the substantial drug haul recovered from the accused.
Identities of the Arrested and Raid Locations
According to police reports, eight suspects were apprehended from the Kanke police station area. The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Amit Kumar Gupta
- Mukesh Kumar Yadav
- Munna Yadav
- Chiku Yadav
- Baby Parveen
- Munna Yadav
- Deepak Kumar
- Raju Kumar
Meanwhile, from the Bariatu area, police arrested two additional suspects: Tutu Kumar and Licchu Mahto.
The operation was strategically planned based on specific inputs received by SSP Ranchi Rajesh Ranjan. Police teams arrested four individuals from the ground near the Indian Institute of Coal Management, while the remaining four were apprehended from various other locations in the Kanke area.

During the simultaneous raids conducted in the Bariatu jurisdiction, law enforcement officials nabbed two suspects from a slum situated on Harihar Singh More.
