Udupi: A rowdy-sheeter was ordered to be externed from the district on Thursday. Somnath alias Somu, aged 40, who resides at Kumbrapadavu in Kasaba village, Karkala taluk, was issued an externment order by the special judicial magistrate and the superintendent of police.
According to officials, there are 11 cases registered against Somnath, and a rowdy sheet has been opened at the Karkala Town police station. The authorities have externed him to the jurisdiction of the Tunga Nagar police station in Shivamogga district.
This action was taken to maintain law and order in the district. The externment order prohibits Somnath from entering Udupi district for a specified period. The police have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the order.
