Bengaluru: A 36-year-old rowdy-sheeter was brutally hacked to death by a group of armed assailants in Hoskote on Saturday night, prompting heightened police security in the area. The incident has sent shockwaves through the locality, with law enforcement officials swiftly launching an investigation to track down the perpetrators.
Details of the Incident
According to police reports, the victim, identified as Kaleem Ullah Khan, a resident of Janata Colony in Sulibele, Hoskote taluk, was returning home on his motorcycle when the miscreants, who were lying in wait near his house, intercepted him. The attackers reportedly chased him and assaulted him with lethal weapons, including swords and knives. Despite Khan's desperate attempts to escape, the assailants caught up with him and repeatedly struck him, inflicting more than 20 injuries before fleeing the scene.
Victim's Background
Khan was a known rowdy-sheeter registered at the Sulibele police station. He had a criminal record and was involved in an attempt-to-murder case in 2017. Police sources revealed that Khan had been active in several recent criminal activities, and the murder is believed to be the result of a rivalry with a rival gang.
Police Response and Investigation
After the attack, locals alerted the police and rushed Khan to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead. A senior police officer stated, 'We have strong clues about the assailants, and they will be nabbed soon. We are leaving no stone unturned in this investigation.' The area has seen an increased police presence to prevent any further violence.
