The Railway Protection Force (RPF) in Nagpur successfully apprehended two individuals wanted in connection with a murder case and subsequently handed them over to the Goa Police. The suspects, both residents of Jharkhand, were allegedly involved in a murder registered at the Agacaim police station in North Goa.
Intelligence-Led Operation
On June 2, RPF officials received intelligence from the Goa Police indicating that the accused might be traveling aboard the Amravati-Jabalpur Express. This information was derived from CCTV footage related to the murder case.
Under the guidance of the inspector in-charge of RPF Thana Nagpur, a joint team comprising sub-inspector MK Pandey, head constable SK Pandey, constables Neeraj Kumar, and Ashish Kumar conducted a thorough search of the train. However, the suspects were not found on board.
Search and Apprehension
Undeterred, the RPF team launched an intensive search across Nagpur Railway Station. Around 8 pm, two individuals matching the CCTV images were spotted near the outer gate of the temporary PRS counter adjacent to Platform 1. The team immediately cordoned off the area and apprehended them.
During interrogation, the duo identified themselves as Duryodhan Majhi (30) and Laldev Majhi (27), both residents of Simdega district in Jharkhand.
Handover to Goa Police
On June 3, a Goa Police team led by PSI Rishikesh Raykar arrived at RPF Thana Nagpur. Sub-inspector VP Singh of RPF, Nagpur, formally handed over both accused individuals to the Goa Police for further legal proceedings.
