In a brazen daylight robbery, armed criminals made off with gold and silver ornaments valued at a staggering Rs 25 lakh from a jewellery shop in Ramgarh district. The incident occurred on Saturday late evening in the Bhurkunda area, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Modus Operandi: Posing as Customers
According to preliminary reports, the heist was executed by a group of five miscreants. The men entered the premises of the targeted jewellery shop under the guise of being potential customers. Once inside, they swiftly revealed their true intentions, brandishing firearms to intimidate the shop owner and staff before looting the valuable items.
Investigation Launched, CCTV Wires Snapped
Upendra Kumar, the officer in-charge of the Bhurkunda outpost police station, confirmed the incident on Sunday. He stated that a thorough probe is currently underway to identify and apprehend the culprits. In a calculated move to conceal their identities, the robbers reportedly snapped the wires of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) system installed in the shop, significantly hampering the initial investigative leads.
The formal complaint was lodged by the shop owner himself, who in his written statement to the police, detailed the loss and estimated the value of the stolen jewellery to be approximately Rs 25 lakh. The Bhurkunda outpost police station, under whose jurisdiction the case falls, is spearheading the investigation, combing through available evidence and witness accounts.

Police authorities have assured the public that all possible angles are being explored and efforts are being intensified to track down the armed gang involved in this major theft.
