A major work-from-home scam has come to light in Karnataka's Tumakuru district, where investors were duped of a staggering Rs 6 crore. The fraud came to light after a complaint was filed by Sunil, a resident of Raghavendra Nagar.
How the Scam Operated
According to the complaint, the accused individuals convinced people that their company was government-approved. They promised lucrative returns for simple work-from-home tasks, luring many investors. The victims were asked to invest money, which was then siphoned off by the fraudsters.
