Triple Murder in Samalkha: Three Friends Crushed to Death
In a shocking incident late Wednesday evening, three friends were crushed to death in Dikadla village, Samalkha, under suspicious circumstances. The accused allegedly attempted to pass off the incident as an accident. However, the Samalkha police have booked nine persons for murder, citing old enmity linked to illegal mining.
Victims Identified
The deceased have been identified as Vinod (48), Narender (46), and Aneep (36), all residents of Dikadla village. According to police, the assailants suspected that one of the victims had filed a complaint against them regarding illegal mining, which led to the fatal attack.
Complaint Filed by Brother
Virender Gahlayan, brother of deceased Narender, filed a complaint with the Samalkha police. He stated that he was at a private hospital in Samalkha when he received a call from Saket, a fellow villager, informing him about the incident. Virender rushed to the spot and found the three men seriously injured. They were being taken to a higher-level hospital in Panipat. Narender, who was conscious despite a forehead injury, disclosed that Manish, Sandeep, Ravinder, Navin, Tushar, Sachin, Neeraj, Rajbir alias Raja of Dikadla village, and Sooraj of Atta village had tried to kill them by hitting them with their vehicle.
Motive: Old Enmity Over Illegal Mining
Narender revealed that Manish's trolley and dumper had been seized by the Mining Department for illegal mining. Manish suspected Narender of filing the complaint and had threatened him. On the evening of the incident, Narender had returned from Haridwar and, along with his friends Vinod and Aneep, went for an evening walk toward the fields. While returning on Vinod's scooter, Manish and others in a black Scorpio hit them from behind. The victims fell on the road, after which the accused attacked them and fled the scene.
Medical Treatment and Death
The trio was taken to a private hospital in Panipat, where doctors referred them to the civil hospital. All three were declared dead upon arrival. Virender alleged that the accused deliberately murdered them.
Police Action
Following the complaint, Samalkha police registered a case against nine persons under Sections 103(1), 190, 191(3), and 61 of the BNS. The accused include Manish, Sandeep, Ravinder, Navin, Tushar, Sachin, Neeraj, and Rajbir of Dikadla village, and Sooraj of Atta village. SI Deepak Kumar, SHO of Samalkha, stated that the bodies were handed over to the families after postmortem on Thursday. No arrests have been made yet, as all accused are on the run. The vehicle used in the crime has been taken into custody; the accused had abandoned it elsewhere before fleeing.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are actively searching for the suspects.
