BAREILLY: An FIR has been registered against three Class 5 students of a government school in Sambhal for allegedly sexually assaulting a six-year-old classmate by inserting a pen into his rectum following a minor classroom scuffle, police said on Sunday.
Police Investigation Underway
Superintendent of Police Krishan Kant Bishnoi told TOI, "All four were friends. As of now, no clear motive has emerged. We are probing the circumstances that led to the incident." The police are examining the sequence of events and the role of each accused.
Incident Details
The victim's family reported that the incident occurred on Friday inside the classroom when the boy's elbow accidentally brushed against one of his classmates. The minor altercation escalated into a scuffle. Teachers intervened, pacified the children, and sent them home. However, the matter did not end there.
Outside the school, one of the juveniles, along with an accomplice, allegedly intercepted the boy and dragged him to a nearby field. According to police, the children pinned the boy face-down, with two standing on his hands and feet to restrain him, while the third inserted a pen into his private parts. After the attack, all three fled.
Medical Condition and Legal Action
The child somehow managed to reach home and narrated his ordeal to his family. As his intestine was severely injured, doctors performed surgery. The FIR was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect his privacy, as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault. Further investigation is ongoing.
