Sambhal Couple's Brutal Crime: Husband Bludgeoned, Body Dismembered

In a horrific case that has sent shockwaves through Sambhal, a woman and her alleged lover have been arrested for the brutal murder and dismemberment of her husband. Senior police officer Superintendent of Police KK Bishnoi confirmed the arrests on Monday, detailing a gruesome sequence of events that began with a missing person complaint and ended with the recovery of a mutilated body.

From Missing Complaint to Grisly Discovery

The police narrative states that Ruby, a resident of Mohalla Chunni in the Chandousi area, filed a report on November 18, claiming her 38-year-old husband Rahul had gone missing. The investigation took a macabre turn weeks later, on December 15, when authorities recovered a severely mutilated body from a drain near the Eidgah area.

The recovered remains were missing the head, hands, and legs. The body was taken into custody, and a post-mortem was immediately conducted. Forensic experts performed a detailed examination and collected DNA samples for analysis. A crucial clue was found on the body itself—the name "Rahul" was written on it.

Technical Clues and a Chilling Confession

Police work involved reviewing missing persons reports from nearby stations and technical analysis, which revealed that Rahul's mobile phone had been switched off since November 18, the day he was reported missing. This inconsistency led investigators to suspect Ruby's involvement.

During intense interrogation, Ruby broke down and confessed to the crime. She admitted to killing her husband with the help of her lover, Gaurav. The motive, as stated by SP Bishnoi, was that Rahul had caught the two in an illicit relationship. The accused were subsequently arrested on December 20 and sent to jail.

Gruesome Modus Operandi and Evidence Recovery

The confession revealed horrifying details. The accused told police they attacked Rahul with an iron rod and an iron pestle, killing him on the spot. To dispose of the evidence, they then procured a wood grinder (wood cutting machine) and used it to cut the body into pieces.

One part of the dismembered body was dumped in the drain where it was later found. The remaining parts were transported to Rajghat and thrown into the Ganga river, the SP added. In a significant breakthrough, police have recovered the alleged murder weapons, including the grinder used to dismember the body and the iron hammer used in the assault.

DNA samples of the deceased have been preserved and will be matched with those of his children to conclusively establish the victim's identity and forensically strengthen the case against the accused. The police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further investigation is currently underway to piece together the complete timeline of this chilling crime.
