Samrala Murder: Cop Injured, Fake Social Media Post Exposed

Police Uncover Truth Behind Samrala Killing and Fake Social Media Post

In a significant development in the Samrala murder case, Khanna police have arrested nine accused while revealing that a social media post claiming responsibility for the crime in the name of gangster Anmol Bishnoi was completely fabricated. The investigation took a dramatic turn when a police sub-inspector was among three people injured during an encounter while recovering weapons related to the case.

Violent Encounter During Weapon Recovery

The situation escalated on Monday when police accompanied the accused to recover weapons hidden near the Toll Plaza in Samrala's Kubbe village. Sub-inspector Narinderpal Singh was shot in the left leg when accused Harkaran Singh opened fire in an attempt to escape. In self-defense, the injured SI returned fire, hitting Harkaran in his leg. Meanwhile, co-accused Gurtej Singh jumped from the first floor while trying to flee, sustaining injuries in the process.

All three injured individuals - the police officer and the two accused - were immediately admitted to Samrala's Civil Hospital for treatment. Police have registered two separate FIRs against the accused at Samrala police station: one for the November 3 murder and another for attempt to murder for opening fire at police personnel.

Revenge Motive Behind Original Crime

According to Khanna SSP Jyoti Yadav, the murder of Gurwinder Singh alias Kinda, who was shot at Manki village of Samrala on November 3, was actually motivated by personal revenge rather than gang rivalry. The trigger was an argument that occurred approximately one month ago during a blood donation camp in Samrala, where the father of accused Harkaran Singh had clashed with Babu Samrala from the rival group.

SSP Yadav clarified that "Harkaran carried out the firing incident as an act of revenge" for this previous altercation, contradicting initial theories about gang involvement.

Fake Social Media Post Exposed

In a crucial revelation, police confirmed that the social media post from the handle of gangster Anmol Bishnoi - currently jailed in the United States - claiming credit for the murder was completely fake. The investigation uncovered that Sukhdeep Singh alias Sipa, a resident of Muktsar's Malwa village currently living abroad, had uploaded the post specifically to gain popularity in the name of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Anmol Bishnoi, the accomplice and brother of dreaded gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is currently incarcerated along with his brother, making the social media claim implausible from the outset.

Criminal Backgrounds and Additional Arrests

Police have revealed that seven of the nine arrested accused are history-sheeters with substantial criminal records. The accused include Harkaran Singh alias Karan, Rajveer Singh alias Lali, Gurtej Singh alias Teji, and Jaspreet Singh alias Jassu, who were arrested from the house of Davinder Singh in Ratoke, Tarn Taran.

The criminal records of the accused are extensive: Sandeep Singh faces 15 previous FIRs, Harkaran has 5 cases, Gurtej appears in 5 cases, Ravi Rajgarh (a jailed accomplice of Lawrence Bishnoi) has 16 cases, Sukhdeep has 2 cases, Jatinder Kumar has 2 cases, and Rajveer Singh has one case against him.

Police have also booked Rajvir Singh alias Ravi Rajgarh, who is currently lodged in Bathinda jail and was brought on production warrant for interrogation in this case.

Interestingly, while the deceased Gurwinder Singh had no criminal record, his two friends present at the scene on November 3 both have previous cases against them. Dharamveer Singh alias Dharma, who was injured in the incident, has two previous FIRs, while Lovepreet Singh has one case against him.

The Samrala case highlights how criminal elements attempt to leverage the reputation of established gangs for personal credibility, while also demonstrating the risks police personnel face during investigation operations.
