The Supreme Court on Friday directed the Director General of Police of Uttar Pradesh to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the rape and murder of a minor girl in Ghaziabad. The bench passed the order while hearing a petition filed by the victim's father, who sought a court-monitored investigation into the case, either by an SIT or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
