Second Accused Arrested in Navi Mumbai Murder Case

The crime detection branch team of CBD-Belapur police station arrested the second accused from Pune on Tuesday in connection with the murder of a daily wage labourer. The victim's body, with his head smashed with a stone, was discovered under the flyover near NMMC headquarters on the morning of April 17.

Arrest of First Accused

The first accused was arrested on April 24 after being traced to the pavement near Cotton Green railway station in Mumbai.

Investigation Details

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-2) Amit Kale stated that an empty country liquor bottle and an antiseptic cream tube were initially found at the crime scene. Investigators traced the batch numbers to wine shops and medical stores in CBD-Belapur. It was determined that the victim, accompanied by the two accused, had purchased these items. CCTV footage from the wine shop and medical store confirmed their presence, providing images of the two suspects.
