Second Illegal Firecracker Factory Uncovered in Alwar After Deadly Blast
In a shocking development, police in Alwar have uncovered a second illegal firecracker manufacturing unit and warehouse in the Khushkheda Industrial Area. This discovery comes just one day after a massive explosion and fire at another illegal firecracker factory in Bhiwadi town claimed the lives of seven workers.
Police Raid Reveals Extensive Illegal Operations
During follow-up inspections on Tuesday, authorities found the second factory operating without proper permits. Superintendent of Police Manish Chaudhary reported that several manufacturing machines were installed at the site, along with large quantities of gunpowder, other explosive materials, and finished firecrackers stored in the warehouse.
"Local police have requested technical expertise from Jaipur to examine and identify the explosives recovered from the scene," Chaudhary stated. Police were forced to break into the factory after the owner failed to appear when summoned.
Two Arrests Made in Connection with Deadly Blast
Meanwhile, authorities have arrested two individuals connected to Monday's fatal explosion. The arrests include Hemant Sharma, who had rented the factory where the blast occurred, and Abhinandan, the manager overseeing day-to-day operations.
Jaipur Range IG Raghavendra Suhasa, who visited Bhiwadi on Tuesday, confirmed that Hemant Sharma has been taken into custody. "The role of his brother, who serves in the police's district special team, is also under investigation," Suhasa added.
Investigation Uncovers Complex History of Illegal Activity
The investigation into Monday's tragedy has revealed a complex history of illegal operations at the blast site:
- The 600-yard plot was originally allotted to Rajendra Kumar in 2005
- Permission for garment production was granted in 2011
- The plot was rented to Hemant Sharma in 2019
- Illegal firecracker manufacturing had been secretly operating for approximately one month
- Finished products were being sent to New Delhi
Police discovered that the factory was operating under permits for steel fabrication and washing powder manufacturing while secretly producing firecrackers illegally.
Legal Action Initiated Against Multiple Parties
Khushkheda police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against several individuals in connection with Monday's deadly incident:
- Factory owner Rajendra Kumar
- Renter Hemant Sharma
- Manager Abhinandan
- Contractor Ajit
The complaint was filed by the brother of one of the deceased workers, prompting the legal action against all parties involved in the illegal operation that led to the tragic loss of life.
