A tragic incident occurred in Lucknow's Vikas Nagar area late Thursday night, where a 52-year-old private security agency supervisor died by suicide, shooting himself with his licensed revolver. The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Singh, a supervisor at Shriram Security Agency. He took the extreme step at his residence located in Sector-C of Saboli locality. Singh is survived by his wife and two daughters.
Circumstances of the Incident
According to police, Singh was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. Family members reported that around 10 pm, Singh was alone inside a room when he placed the revolver to his temple and fired. Hearing the gunshot, relatives rushed in and found him with a severe head injury. He was immediately taken to the Trauma Centre, but doctors declared him brought dead.
Police Response and Investigation
Police received information via Dial-112 around 12:22 am and promptly reached the spot. At the scene, they recovered the licensed weapon and bloodstains from the room. A forensic team examined the area and collected evidence for further analysis.
SHO Vikas Nagar Alok Singh stated that the body has been sent for post-mortem examination. He added, 'Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide, but all angles are being probed.' The investigation is ongoing to determine any underlying reasons for the extreme step.
