Senior Citizen Succumbs to Injuries After E-Rickshaw Collision in East Delhi

A tragic road accident in East Delhi has claimed the life of a 76-year-old woman. The incident, which involved an electric rickshaw colliding with a scooter, occurred in the Jagatpuri area on Monday, December 16, 2025. Delhi Police confirmed the fatality on Wednesday.

Details of the Fatal Collision

The victim has been identified as Satnam, a resident of Gandhi Nagar. According to police officials, the accident took place when Satnam and her husband, Rajendra Singh, were returning home on their scooter. The couple had just offered prayers at a local gurdwara.

"Near the gurdwara, an e-rickshaw hit the scooty. The impact caused the couple to fall onto the road, and the e-rickshaw also overturned," stated a police officer involved in the case. The collision was severe, leaving both elderly individuals injured.

Rushed to Hospital and Declared Dead on Arrival

Following the accident, both Satnam and Rajendra Singh were immediately taken to a nearby hospital in Laxmi Nagar for initial treatment. Due to the seriousness of their conditions, they were subsequently transferred to different facilities for specialized care.

Satnam was referred to Metro Hospital, while her husband was taken to Goyal Hospital. Tragically, medical professionals at Metro Hospital declared Satnam dead on arrival. Her husband's current condition has not been detailed in the police report.
