Shiv Sena Leader Held for Provocative Posts Before Op Bluestar

The police have taken Shiv Sena Hind leader Ajay Gupta into preventive custody for allegedly posting inflammatory and provocative content on social media ahead of the anniversary of Operation Bluestar, which is marked on June 6. The action was taken to prevent any potential disturbance to public order.

Details of the Arrest

Ajay Gupta, aged 35, was arrested under Sections 126 and 170 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). According to a senior police official, Gupta had been provided with two security gunmen from the Punjab Armed Police or India Reserve Battalion about eight months ago. However, his security cover was recently withdrawn.

“Looking to get the cover restored, he began engaging in anti-social activities, including sharing provocative posts on social media,” the official said.
