The disruption began at approximately 3:32 pm when a point failure triggered a signal malfunction on the down line. This technical issue forced several local trains heading from Mumbai towards Titwala and Kasara to halt abruptly mid-route. Passengers, frustrated by the unexpected delay, were observed disembarking from the stationary trains and walking along the railway tracks towards the nearest station.
Railway Authorities Issue Urgent Safety Warnings
Upon noticing the large number of commuters on the tracks, railway authorities immediately initiated repeated announcements inside the affected trains. These announcements urgently advised passengers against walking on the tracks for their own safety and assured them that services would resume shortly. The situation highlighted critical safety concerns during such operational failures.

According to senior public relations officer Praveen Patil, the technical fault was identified and rectified within about 20 minutes of its occurrence.
