A joyous wedding celebration in the town of Singhana, Jhunjhunu, took a shocking and violent turn, mirroring a dramatic Bollywood screenplay. The incident, which unfolded on November 29, transformed the Krishna Marriage Garden from a venue of festivity into a scene of chaos and assault.
From Celebration to Confrontation
The evening began with the typical fanfare of a North Indian wedding, filled with music, dance, and celebration. However, the mood shifted when a group of uninvited youths entered the premises and joined the festivities on the DJ floor. When the wedding party objected to their presence, Mahendra Saini, the operator of the marriage garden, stepped in. Acting as a bouncer, he escorted the unwanted guests out of the venue, hoping to restore order.
A Vicious Ambush After Dark
The story, however, was far from over. As the wedding rituals continued, Saini returned to secure the main gate. To his horror, he was ambushed by a group of 8-10 youths, who were apparently seeking revenge for being ejected earlier. Armed with sticks, they launched a brutal attack on Saini, turning the wedding ground into an impromptu battleground.
Hearing Saini's cries for help, a wedding guest named Pradeep, who had travelled from Uttarakhand, rushed to his aid. Unfortunately, Pradeep also found himself targeted by the stick-wielding assailants, becoming a second victim of the sudden violence.
Severe Injuries and Community Outcry
The aftermath of the attack was severe. Mahendra Saini sustained four deep wounds on his head and required over 20 stitches. Given the seriousness of his injuries, he was initially treated in Jhunjhunu before being referred to a hospital in Jaipur for advanced medical care.
In response to this brazen attack, Sanjeev, Saini's nephew, filed a formal First Information Report (FIR) with the police, naming several local youths as the accused. The incident has sparked significant anger within the Singhana community. Local leaders and residents have rallied together, demanding swift justice and immediate arrests. They have issued a strong warning to the police, threatening to stage a large-scale protest if action is not taken within three days.
This violent episode at a sacred social function has raised serious concerns about law and order and public safety during private events in the region.
