During the puja, Chhatrapati Singh allegedly attacked Kemla and Phool Kumari with a sharp-edged weapon, beheading them on the spot. Investigators suspect that he believed the victims were responsible for his personal misfortunes through witchcraft.

Police revealed that the accused had been under significant mental stress following his wife's miscarriage a few months ago.
