Police officials have identified the arrested suspects as Jafar Noor Khatik, Mohammad Sameer Mohammad Zakir, Syed Mushahid Ali Mumtaz Ali, Shaheen Bano Abu Hamza, Rubina Habib Qureshi, and Siddharth Kailas Raemale, all residents of Dhule. According to law enforcement, the group was caught red-handed while collecting cash from the complainant at a local hospital, highlighting the brazen nature of their alleged activities.

The case unfolded when the doctor, who has chosen to remain anonymous, approached the City Chowk police station after receiving repeated threats to his life. The accused allegedly demanded Rs 5 lakh from him, with police reports indicating that they made multiple threatening calls between March 5 and March 13, persistently insisting on payment.

Refusing to yield to the extortion demands, the complainant courageously filed a formal complaint with the police. Acting promptly on this information, a specialized team was assembled under the leadership of assistant inspector Manoj Shinde, with overall guidance provided by inspector Nirmala Pardeshi. This team meticulously laid a trap that ultimately led to the successful apprehension of all six suspects.
