Six Arrested for Robbery at Migrant Workers' Home in Aluva

Kochi: Aluva police on Friday arrested six individuals for breaking into a house rented by migrant workers and committing robbery. The group posed as residents and forcibly entered the house, claiming that a migrant worker who sold drugs was living there.

Details of the Arrest

The arrested individuals are Anas, 28, Nouh, 26, Vinod Kumar, 35, Hassan, 25, Hitbullah Shiyas, 21, and Ashik Aliyar, 21. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when they forcibly entered a rental house near Sivagiri Vidyaniketan School.

Police stated that the group intended to look for drugs and steal them for themselves. However, the intended target, a person from Assam, had left the area months ago. The accused attacked the occupants, stole mobile phones, and took money from one person's pocket. Police said they later sold the stolen mobile phones at shops in Perumbavoor. They were remanded in judicial custody.

Private Bus Crews Clash

In a separate incident, three persons were arrested following a brawl among crews of private buses plying on the Aluva-Fort Kochi route on Friday. The arrested are Jithin, 35, Abdul Saddam, 32, and Anson Job, 38. The conflict arose over the bus schedule.

The accused entered a bus operating on the Aluva-Thoppumpady route and attacked the crew. Passengers on the bus were also made to disembark. Police intervened and arrested the trio.
