A tragic incident in Jharkhand's Chatra district has claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy who was popular for his social media content. The victim, identified as Md Ayan Khan, was found dead near the Dulki river on Wednesday, leading to a police investigation that uncovered a hit-and-run and an attempt to conceal the crime.
The Discovery and Police Investigation
The matter came to light on Wednesday after local residents spotted a body near the Dulki bridge along the Manatu–Imamganj main road. They immediately alerted the authorities from the Pratapur police station. Upon arrival, police identified the deceased as Ayan, a resident of Charka Khurd village.
Officer-in-charge Alok Ranjan Chaudhary stated that preliminary investigation revealed the boy was run over by a tractor loaded with sand. The driver, in an attempt to hide the incident, allegedly dumped the body near the riverbank close to Charka Kalali Mor. The police have taken the tractor driver into custody and seized the vehicle.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Tragedy
According to the police account based on the driver's interrogation, the incident occurred late on Tuesday night. Ayan reportedly sat on the moving tractor. At some point, he fell off and was tragically run over by the vehicle's wheel, which caused his instantaneous death.
In a bid to evade responsibility, the accused driver then moved the body approximately 500 metres away from the original accident site, leaving it near the Dulki riverbank. The post-mortem was conducted, after which the body was handed over to the grieving family. Further legal proceedings will depend on the formal complaint and the findings of the autopsy report.

Md Ayan Khan was a familiar face in his locality, known for his creativity and passion for making short reels and videos. Despite not owning a personal mobile phone, he would often borrow devices from friends and acquaintances to create content, gaining a notable following and popularity on social media platforms at a very young age.
It remains unclear why Ayan was on the tractor or if he was filming content at the time of the accident. Officer Chaudhary confirmed that the police are actively probing the case, and a thorough interrogation of the arrested driver is underway to uncover the complete truth. The community mourns the loss of a young talent whose life was cut short in a devastating manner.
