Tragic Accident Claims Life of Software Engineer in Chittoor
A devastating road accident in Chittoor town resulted in the death of a 32-year-old software engineer on Friday morning. The incident occurred at Iruvaram, where a container rack from a moving lorry slipped and fell onto a car, crushing its occupant instantly.
Victim Identified as D Anudeepak
The deceased has been identified as D Anudeepak, a resident of Ramapuram village in Gudipala mandal of Chittoor district. Anudeepak worked as a software engineer at an IT firm in Bengaluru, adding a layer of tragedy to the untimely loss.
Police have clarified that only one person died in the accident, countering false claims circulating on social media that suggested six fatalities. This misinformation had caused unnecessary panic and confusion among the public.
Details of the Accident
According to Chittoor traffic police station inspector G Nithya Babu, the accident took place around 8:15 am on Friday. The container lorry driver, in an attempt to avoid a biker approaching from the Yadamarri side, swerved onto the road divider. This sudden maneuver caused the container rack to dislodge and fall onto a car traveling in the opposite lane, leading to the immediate death of Anudeepak.
Inspector Nithya Babu provided further insight into the medical aspects, stating, "Although there were no major external injuries on the victim's body, internal organ damage, including injuries to the lungs and heart, resulted in the instantaneous death of Anudeepak." The body was subsequently shifted to the Chittoor government hospital for a postmortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Police Action and Investigation
In response to the incident, police have taken swift action. The container lorry driver has been taken into custody, and the vehicle has been shifted to the traffic police station for further inspection. The biker involved in the incident sustained minor injuries and was also shifted to the Chittoor government hospital for necessary treatment.
A formal case has been registered against both the lorry driver and the biker, with an investigation currently underway to determine the precise sequence of events and assign responsibility. Authorities are examining factors such as vehicle condition, driver negligence, and road safety measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
