According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim's younger son, Bharat Somani (28), the confrontation occurred on the evening of April 7. The victim, identified as Jivan Somani (85), reportedly scolded his elder son, Pravin Somani, for idling and not engaging in work or business activities. This reprimand escalated into a violent outburst.
Enraged by his father's criticism, Pravin allegedly grabbed an axe and struck Jivan on the leg, inflicting a deep and severe wound near the ankle. The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving the octogenarian gravely injured.
Medical Response and Tragic Outcome
The injured Jivan Somani was initially rushed to the Maliya Government Hospital for emergency care. Due to the severity of his condition, he was later referred to the Morbi Government Hospital for further treatment. In a desperate bid to save his life, he was subsequently transferred to a medical facility in Rajkot for advanced interventions.
Tragically, Jivan succumbed to his injuries while en route to Rajkot. His body was brought back to the Morbi Government Hospital, where a postmortem examination was conducted to determine the exact cause of death.
