Morbi Man Axes Father to Death Over Employment Dispute, Arrested While Sleeping

In a shocking incident from Morbi district, a 36-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his elderly father with an axe following a heated domestic argument about employment. The tragic event unfolded in Mota Bhela village under the jurisdiction of the Maliya Miyana police station, highlighting a grim case of familial violence.

Details of the Fatal Altercation

According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed by the victim's younger son, Bharat Somani (28), the confrontation occurred on the evening of April 7. The victim, identified as Jivan Somani (85), reportedly scolded his elder son, Pravin Somani, for idling and not engaging in work or business activities. This reprimand escalated into a violent outburst.

Enraged by his father's criticism, Pravin allegedly grabbed an axe and struck Jivan on the leg, inflicting a deep and severe wound near the ankle. The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving the octogenarian gravely injured.
