Nagpur Police Nabs 'Spider-Man' Thief Behind 70+ Burglaries
'Spider-Man' Thief Caught in Nagpur After 70+ Cases

In a significant breakthrough, Nagpur's anti-burglary squad has captured a notorious criminal known as 'Spider-Man' for his extraordinary ability to climb multi-storey buildings without any equipment. The arrest took place on Thursday near Medical College Square, bringing relief to numerous victims across Maharashtra.

The Capture of the Spider-Man Criminal

Acting on crucial intelligence inputs, a team led by Police Inspector Dilip Chandan successfully apprehended the 36-year-old thief, identified as Ram Madavi. What makes this arrest particularly noteworthy is the staggering number of cases registered against him - more than 70 house-breaking cases across various police stations in Maharashtra.

The operation received technical support from the cyber cell, demonstrating the evolving methods of crime prevention. The accused thief has been remanded to judicial custody and will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.

Unusual Modus Operandi Earned Him the Nickname

Madavi earned the dramatic nickname 'Spider-Man' within criminal circles due to his unique burglary technique. Unlike conventional thieves, he never used ropes, ladders, or any climbing equipment. Instead, he relied on his bare hands to scale multi-storey buildings and enter locked apartments through balconies and upper-floor windows.

His method was so efficient that he could slip into homes and disappear before residents could even raise an alarm. This unusual approach made him particularly difficult to track and capture over the years.

Recent Crimes and Confessions

During interrogation, Madavi confessed to three major burglaries committed in Nagpur city this year alone. In one significant incident in the Kotwali police station area, he made away with Rs 12 lakh in cash. Another theft occurred in Sitabuldi, where he stole Rs 2.80 lakh cash.

His criminal activities weren't limited to cash theft alone. Police confirmed that he also stole a scooter from Ambazari area. Recent information also reveals that Madavi broke into a house near a temple in Shegaon, Akola district, escaping with Rs 2 lakh cash.

Hailing from Salei village in rural Nagpur, Madavi's capture represents a major victory for law enforcement agencies struggling with persistent house burglary cases across the state.
