The Special Task Force (STF) of Prayagraj unit claimed to have apprehended a notorious criminal, Abdul Wahid, on Wednesday. Wahid, a resident of Nizamabad near the Varanasi-Azamgarh highway, was wanted by the Azamgarh police in connection with the Gangster Act. He carried a cash reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.

The STF team acted on a tip-off and successfully nabbed the accused from his hideout. Wahid had been evading arrest for a long time, and his capture marks a significant achievement for the law enforcement agency.
Criminal Record
According to police sources, as many as five criminal cases are pending against Abdul Wahid at the Nizamabad police station in Azamgarh district. These cases include charges under the Gangster Act, indicating his involvement in organized crime.
The arrest is expected to bring relief to the local populace, as Wahid was considered a menace in the region. Further interrogation is underway to uncover his network and any associates.
