Tragic Road Accident Claims Life of Engineering Student in Krishna District
A devastating road accident in Gannavaram, located within Krishna district, has resulted in the untimely death of a young engineering student. The incident occurred when the student reportedly attempted to evade a routine police vehicle check, leading to a fatal collision.
Details of the Deceased and the Incident
The victim has been identified as Palagani Pranay, a final-year engineering student enrolled at KL University. Pranay was a resident of Keesarapalli village in Gannavaram mandal. His younger brother, Kaushik, is currently a second-year Intermediate student.
According to statements from family members, Kaushik regularly attends tuition classes at Chinna Avutapalli. Typically, their father, Shivaji, is responsible for dropping Kaushik off at the tuition centre each day. However, on Saturday, when their father was unavailable, Pranay took it upon himself to transport his younger brother to the classes using a motorcycle.
Sequence of Events Leading to the Collision
While the brothers were traveling along the route, traffic police officers were conducting standard vehicle checks in the area. Upon noticing the police patrol, Pranay reportedly became nervous and made a sudden decision to turn his motorcycle around in an attempt to avoid the checking procedure.
During this abrupt manoeuvre, the motorcycle collided with an oncoming Bolero vehicle on the road. The impact of the crash was severe, leaving Pranay with critical injuries. His younger brother, Kaushik, also sustained injuries in the accident.
Medical Response and Aftermath
Both individuals were immediately rushed to the Pinnamaneni Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Foundation for urgent medical treatment. Despite the best efforts of the attending doctors, Pranay succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment. Kaushik is currently receiving medical care and is under observation at the facility.
Following the tragic event, Pranay's body was transferred to the Gannavaram Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
