A tragic incident occurred in Chandauli district, Uttar Pradesh, where a 17-year-old Class X student was stabbed to death by his classmate during a coaching session inside a school on Friday. The accused allegedly told police he purchased a knife online for Rs 300 to teach the victim a lesson after repeated bullying.
Incident Details
The attack took place at an intermediate college in Pratappur village under Sadar Kotwali limits, about 10 km from the district headquarters. Around 10 students were attending a summer vacation class when the accused, also 17, got up 15 minutes into the session, took out a knife concealed in his waistband, and stabbed the victim multiple times in the chest. The victim was seated in the front row, while the accused was behind him.
Panic and Aftermath
The sudden assault triggered panic, with students and staff rushing out of the classroom. The injured boy collapsed on the spot and was taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Teachers overpowered the accused and handed him over to police. The weapon used in the crime was recovered.
Accused's Statement
During questioning, the accused allegedly told police he had been planning the attack for several days. He claimed the victim had repeatedly insulted, pushed, and humiliated him over his thin physique in front of classmates. Investigators said the accused revealed he ordered the knife online six days before the incident using a friend's e-commerce account and carried it to school on Friday, waiting for an opportunity.
Police Response
SP Chandauli, Akash Patel, said the child in conflict with law had been subjected to repeated ridicule and verbal abuse. He harbored resentment and intended to teach him a lesson. The knife has been recovered. The body has been sent for postmortem, and further proceedings will be carried out under provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act. The accused remains in custody, and the investigation is underway.
