Surat Man Arrested for Allegedly Raping and Impregnating Minor Daughters of Live-in Partner
In a deeply disturbing case from Gujarat, a 38-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping and impregnating the two minor daughters of his live-in partner. The horrific incidents occurred in a village under the jurisdiction of the Chikhli police station area in Navsari district, Surat.
Details of the Crime and Arrest
The accused had been in a live-in relationship with the victims' mother for the past six years, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police B V Gohil. The woman, who was divorced seven years ago, lived with the accused and her four minor children—two sons and two daughters.
The shocking revelations came to light when the younger daughter, aged 13, developed severe abdominal pain and was taken for a medical examination. The examination disclosed that she was five months pregnant. Subsequent police investigations revealed that the accused had raped her multiple times.
Following this discovery, authorities conducted a medical examination of the second daughter, aged 14, which confirmed that she was also two months pregnant. The police have registered a case against the man under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Pattern of Abuse and Threats
Investigations indicate that the accused employed a sinister pattern to carry out the assaults. He would allegedly take the girls to a forest area under various pretexts, where he sexually assaulted them, primarily during nighttime hours. To ensure their silence, he threatened the minors with serious consequences if they disclosed the abuse to anyone.
This case highlights severe vulnerabilities within domestic settings and underscores the critical need for vigilance and protection mechanisms for children, especially in complex family structures. The arrest marks a crucial step in seeking justice for the victims, but it also raises urgent questions about child safety and the enforcement of laws designed to protect minors from sexual exploitation.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to gather further evidence and ensure that the accused faces the full extent of legal repercussions for these heinous crimes.
