Surat Murder Case: History-Sheeter Brutally Beaten to Death Over Wife Rumors
In a shocking incident in Surat, the Dindoli police have officially booked three persons for the murder of a 26-year-old history-sheeter, who was brutally beaten to death following a heated dispute over derogatory remarks about his wife. The victim, identified as Dhiraj Singh Rajput, had a criminal record with six offences registered against him in the past and had been incarcerated twice under the stringent PASA Act.
Background of the Dispute and Allegations
According to police reports, the primary accused, Sunny Chauhan, had been actively spreading malicious rumors within Rajput's social circle, alleging that Rajput's wife was involved in an extramarital affair in their native village. This gossip created significant tension, leading to a confrontation between Rajput and Chauhan approximately four days prior to the fatal incident.
The situation escalated dramatically on Wednesday night around 10 PM, when Rajput and Chauhan engaged in another violent quarrel. During this altercation, Rajput allegedly slapped Chauhan multiple times, further inflaming the conflict and setting the stage for the tragic events that followed.
Details of the Fatal Assault and Aftermath
In the early hours of Thursday, around 1 AM, Chauhan returned to Rajput's residence accompanied by his friend, Atul Singh Bihari. Under the pretext of having a discussion to resolve their differences, they persuaded Rajput to accompany them. Rajput's roommate, Sonu Verma, also joined the group, ostensibly to mediate or witness the conversation.
However, instead of a peaceful dialogue, Rajput was subjected to a severe and brutal beating. At approximately 6:30 AM, Chauhan and Bihari brought Rajput back to his room, where he was found with extensive injuries covering his entire body. They instructed his roommates to arrange for medical treatment before hastily departing the scene.
Exhausted and in critical condition, Rajput went to sleep. When his roommates attempted to wake him a few hours later, he was unresponsive. Emergency medical assistance was summoned immediately, but despite their efforts, Rajput was declared dead at the scene, highlighting the severity of the assault.
Police Investigation and Legal Actions
The Dindoli police have registered a formal case of murder against the three accused: Sunny Chauhan, Atul Singh Bihari, and Sonu Verma. In a revealing twist, police investigations indicate that both Chauhan and Verma are also history-sheeters, with a combined total of seven offences registered against them, underscoring their involvement in prior criminal activities.
This case has drawn attention to the dangerous consequences of personal disputes escalating into violence, particularly within circles involving individuals with criminal backgrounds. Authorities are continuing their probe to uncover further details and ensure justice is served in this tragic murder.
