Surat Property Dealer Brutally Murdered in Broad Daylight Attack
In a shocking incident of violence, a 32-year-old property dealer was allegedly hacked to death by six men outside Shree Krishna AC Mall in Surat's Dindoli area on Sunday. The victim, identified as Ashish Singh, was attacked with knives and iron rods in what police suspect was a premeditated assault stemming from a personal rivalry.
Blood Donation Camp Visit Precedes Fatal Attack
Earlier in the day, Singh had gone with his friends to donate blood at a camp organized at Nilgiri Circle Ground to mark the birthday of Union Minister C R Patil. The group had first gathered at Singh's office located within the mall complex, where they parked their bikes before proceeding to the camp in two separate cars.
Violent Assault Outside Mall Premises
Police reports indicate that when Singh and his friends returned to the mall around 3 PM, six assailants arrived on two mopeds and launched a sudden, vicious attack. The attackers specifically targeted Singh with knives and iron rods, repeatedly striking him despite attempts by his friends to intervene and protect him. After inflicting severe injuries, the attackers fled the scene on their vehicles.
The critically injured Singh was immediately rushed to Baba Memorial Hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries despite medical efforts to save his life.
Criminal Background and Ongoing Rivalry
Investigators revealed that Singh, who operated a property dealing business, had previously been booked in cases of abduction and voluntarily causing hurt at both Puna and Godadara police stations. More significantly, police have identified an ongoing dispute with one of the accused, Abhishek Rajput, as the likely motive behind the murder.
"Singh had recently been involved in a dispute with Abhishek Rajput, following which a formal complaint had been lodged at Puna police station," explained investigating officers. "We strongly suspect this attack was carried out specifically over that rivalry and represents a targeted killing rather than a random act of violence."
Police Action and Investigation Progress
Based on a complaint filed by Singh's brother, Dindoli police have registered a case against six individuals: Abhishek Rajput, Gopal, Satish Maratha, Ganesh Pandey, and two other unidentified persons. The police have officially booked all accused parties and launched an intensive search operation to apprehend them.
The investigation is currently focused on tracing the movements of the accused, establishing the precise sequence of events leading to the attack, and gathering additional evidence to build a strong case. Police are also examining whether there were any prior threats or warnings that might have indicated the impending violence.
