A devastating road accident near Bhoriya village in Ambika taluka of Surat district resulted in the deaths of three family members on Sunday. The victims were identified as Ashish Patel (31), a farmer, his wife Parul (29), and their relative Usha (60). The family was returning to Samba village from a wedding when the tragedy struck on the Valsvada-Bhoriya road.

Details of the Accident

The accident occurred when a speeding car, driven by Nilay Patel (31), a resident of Vagheshwar village, took a sharp turn and came onto the wrong side of the road. The car collided with the motorcycle carrying Ashish, Parul, their seven-year-old son, and Usha. The impact was so severe that it flung the victims into the air.

  • Ashish and Usha died on the spot due to severe injuries.
  • Parul and the boy were initially taken to a hospital in Navsari, where Parul later succumbed to her injuries.
  • The boy, who survived with serious injuries including a fracture, was subsequently moved to a private hospital in Surat for further treatment.

Police Investigation and Aftermath

Local residents rushed to the accident site and assisted in shifting the injured to medical facilities. The Anaval police have registered an accidental death case and initiated an investigation into the incident.

A police officer stated, "The driver will be arrested once he is discharged from the hospital. The boy has suffered a fracture and other injuries. His condition is stable currently." Nilay Patel, the car driver, also sustained injuries and was admitted to the hospital.

The seven-year-old boy, now the only son of the deceased couple, is dependent on his grandfather, Satish Patel (57), who filed the First Information Report (FIR). This tragic event has left the family and community in deep mourning, highlighting the dangers of reckless driving on rural roads.
