Software Engineer Allegedly Murders Parents in Bengaluru Apartment Over Family Dispute

The Bengaluru police have arrested a 33-year-old software engineer for the alleged murder of his parents in their apartment in the Vijayanagar area. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, sending shockwaves through the community.

According to police reports, Rohan Chandra Bhat, a software engineer, is accused of stabbing his parents, Naveen Chandra Bhat (60), a retired Navy captain, and Dr. Shyamala Bhat (55), a dentist, with a knife at approximately 7:30 AM. The attack took place at their residence in the Adarsh Vista apartment under the HAL police limits. Following the assault, Rohan took his injured parents to Manipal Hospital for emergency treatment. Tragically, both victims succumbed to their injuries and were declared dead at 8:15 AM.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

The HAL Police Station registered a murder case against Rohan based on a complaint filed by Dr. Madhavi Nair, a doctor at Manipal Hospital and a resident of the same apartment complex. The police have confirmed that Rohan has been arrested and will be produced before a court for legal proceedings. An officer stated that the motive behind the murders has not yet been ascertained, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the reasons behind this heinous act.
