Thane Police Arrest 227 Bangladeshi Nationals in Major Immigration Crackdown
In a significant enforcement drive, the Thane Police Commissionerate arrested 227 Bangladeshi nationals throughout the year 2025. This action represents a substantial escalation in efforts to curb the presence of illegal immigrants residing within the city without proper documentation.

According to official data released by the Thane City Police, authorities registered a total of 116 distinct cases against undocumented Bangladeshi nationals over the course of last year. Remarkably, the police force successfully cracked every single one of these cases, achieving a flawless 100 percent detection rate. "We strongly urge all citizens to exercise due diligence and verify the credentials of individuals before renting out property or hiring domestic workers," Dumbre cautioned. He highlighted a concerning trend where many undocumented migrants reportedly rely on local assistance to obtain forged government identity documents, thereby blending into communities.

The enforcement drive is supported by robust administrative machinery. Authorities issued a total of 284 restriction orders as part of this initiative. Of these, an impressive 271 deportation orders were successfully executed by the end of the reporting period. Only 13 cases remained pending as of late December 2025, a small backlog that officials confidently expect to clear in the near future.
