Thief arrested for stealing gold necklace worth Rs 4.5 lakh

Nagpur: The Crime Branch has arrested a 29-year-old thief for stealing a 22-carat gold necklace worth Rs 4.50 lakh from a parked car near Shree Mohini complex last week. The incident occurred on June 10 between 8:30 pm and 9 pm.

Details of the Incident

Complainant Mitesh Rahangdale (29), a resident of Gondia, had kept the gold necklace purchased from Pukhraj Jewellers, Manewada, in a white bag inside his car parked near Shree Mohini complex. The accused broke the left rear door glass and fled with the bag.

Investigation and Arrest

Acting on a complaint, the Crime Branch team conducted technical surveillance and identified the accused as Zain Ali Bandeali, a resident of Rajura, Chandrapur. He was arrested and confessed to the crime. Police recovered the necklace, a mobile phone, and a two-wheeler.
